Web Development for Vacation Rentals and Cabin Operations
A cabin owner who wants to bypass Airbnb has to win the searches Airbnb would have captured. That means per-cabin URLs that look and rank like product pages, not a single “our cabins” gallery page.
Reference build: White River Cabins
We built White River Cabins as a direct-booking surface that does not rely on Airbnb or Vrbo as the front door. Each cabin gets a dedicated URL with photography, sleeping capacity, amenities, river access notes, distance to town, and seasonal pricing. LodgingBusiness plus per-cabin Accommodation schema declare each property as a first-class entity.
Per-cabin pages built like product pages
- LodgingBusiness plus per-cabin Accommodation schema with bedCount, roomCount, amenityFeature, petsAllowed
- Cabin gallery served as a responsive picture element with WebP plus AVIF fallbacks
- Trip planning content around fishing seasons, river conditions, nearby attractions
- FAQ schema covering check-in time, pet policy, high-water access, and cancellation policy
- Direct booking form or PMS integration (Hostfully, OwnerRez) with consent-aware analytics
The direct-booking math
Airbnb takes 14-18% of revenue between host and guest fees. Vrbo is similar. A direct booking saves that margin but requires the site to actually rank for searches that would have gone to Airbnb. The math only works if the site does the SEO work; otherwise Airbnb is cheaper than the missed bookings.
Pricing
Production builds from $997. Full Visibility Stack from $397/month. See full pricing.
Vacation rental FAQ
- Can we still list on Airbnb while having our own site?
- Yes, and most operators should. The direct site captures returning guests and referral guests; Airbnb captures cold guests who do not know the property. Both channels coexist.
- Do we need a PMS integration?
- For one or two cabins, manual calendar management works. For five or more, a PMS becomes essential. We have wired Hostfully, OwnerRez, and Hospitable.
- How do we handle the pet policy question?
- State it explicitly on every cabin page. Pet-friendly properties get pet bookings; pet-restricted properties get clean guests. Ambiguity loses both.
