Web Development for Nonprofits and Faith-Based Organizations
Nonprofit sites serve two distinct readers: prospective beneficiaries who need help and prospective donors who need to verify the work is real. The architecture has to make the mission legible to both without speaking down to either.
Reference builds
We have built sites for community-rooted nonprofits including Beyond a Step, NWA IDs, Marshallese Voices, Hope Builders, and NWA Pour People. Each balances beneficiary access (clear program routing) against donor verification (transparency hub with 990 and impact data).
What nonprofit sites need that for-profit sites don’t
- NonprofitOrganization schema with founding date, mission, program enumeration, and 501(c)(3) EIN where public
- Programs hub with one URL per program area so each ranks on its own intent
- Volunteer and donate funnels as separate flows with distinct schema treatment
- Annual report and 990 transparency page indexed for donor due diligence
- Press hub so journalists and grant officers can verify legitimacy quickly
- Honest impact reporting that does not inflate program metrics
Donor trust calculus
A nonprofit site that looks like a for-profit landing page loses donor trust in seconds. We build sites that read like community reports: honest about the work, specific about the populations served, clear about how donations turn into program activity. The donate CTA appears below the work, not above it.
Pricing
Production builds from $997. Full Visibility Stack from $397/month. We offer pro bono and reduced-rate engagements for community nonprofits on a case basis. See full pricing.
Nonprofit FAQ
- Should we publish executive compensation?
- It is public record on Form 990 anyway. Linking to the 990 directly is more trust-building than hiding it. Donors who care will look; donors who do not care will not be deterred.
- Can we accept donations through the site?
- Yes, with proper PCI compliance via the donation processor (Stripe, Donorbox, Givebutter). The donation processor handles card data; the site routes to it without breaking analytics.
- Do faith-based organizations need different schema treatment?
- Yes. ReligiousOrganization or PlaceOfWorship schema is more accurate than generic NonprofitOrganization for faith-based nonprofits. The schema declares the organization correctly to search engines and AI engines.
